The J&R Story
Jessie & Rob have been together since the day they met, June 16, 2007. They are a true team in life and now in business. Each of them compliments the other and their strengths and weaknesses are a true balance. Together there is nothing they can't accomplish!
They ventured out and opened J&R Handyman Services and Paint on June 1, 2020, and made a commitment to do everything the right way from the beginning. They are fully licensed, bonded, and insured, but most importantly they are honest and stand behind their work.
The primary goal of J &R is to provide dedicated service to their community while building a lasting positive reputation. With a generational focus, Rob and Jessie desire to build a business worth passing on to their son Aaron and hopefully future generations.

Owner & CEO
Jessie Brown, MS, R.T. (R)(M)

​Jessie grew up in Euclid, Ohio and graduated from Lake Catholic High School in 1993.
​
Growing up in a small family business, Jessie began working at a young age. She is a hard worker and successful at everything she tackles.
Jessie is the “brains” of the operation and handles all the business administrative tasks, project management, communications, licensing, insurance, estimates and invoicing. She is also very hands-on and loves creating things for people and making homes beautiful. One of her biggest strengths is attention to detail and continuous process improvement.
Before J&R Handyman Services and Paint, Jessie was in the medical field for 20 years as a radiologic technologist (x-ray tech) and Instructor of Radiology at Cleveland Clinic School of Diagnostic Imaging for 6 of those years.
She is a Graduate of Cleveland State University with a Master of Science in Health Sciences and a Bachelor Degree in Business Management.
She has two adult children who live in Ohio.

Aaron Brown

Aaron joined the family business in early 2023 after fulfilling his Army enlistment. He started off as a painter apprentice and loves the handyman side. He is a fast learner who truly enjoys helping people and finds great satisfaction in making repairs and completing installations for customers.
Aaron is an Army veteran with 6 years as a 31K, Military Police and Working Dog Handler including a one year deployment in Egypt with his dog.
In 2022, he and his beautiful wife purchased their first home. Together they have a young son and a retired working dog, Roki as a family pet.

Robert Brown
​
Rob grew up in Willoughby Ohio and graduated from Willoughby South High School in 1993.
​
Rob has always dreamed of putting his knowledge and skills to work for himself to serve the people in his community and he is the brainchild of J&R Handyman Services and Paint.
Having grown up in a family business, he has a very strong business acumen. Before J&R Handyman Services and Paint, Rob was a facilities manager for several companies and has tons of experience developing departmental workflow, troubleshooting, and building and repair skills.
Rob’s grandfather opened Brown Electric in 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio which became one of the largest commercial electrical companies in the area. When his father Bob owned the company, Rob and all 8 of his siblings worked there. The business has changed names but is still operating as a third and fourth-generation family business.
With dedication and love for his family, Rob is the caregiver of his mother, Patricia who has lived with Rob and Jessie for many years. Rob's daughter Amanda is currently active duty Airborne at Fort Bragg and his son, Aaron, an Army Veteran, works for the family business.

Remote Administrative Assistant
Tish Bontrager
​
Tish lives in northeast Ohio and joined J&R Handyman Services and Paint as a remote administrative assistant in April of 2023.
​
Professionally, she worked as a Human Resource Manager for 10 years with Home Depot and Giant Eagle, and has a BA in English Education.
​
For the last 20 years, Tish has homeschooled her two daughters. Now that they are pursuing their own careers, she has picked up hers again.
